The beam is square at or near full zoom which is the same as any other simple flashlight that zooms that tightly, because the LED die itself is square.
In some cases specialty LED dies have a round dome put on to diffuse the light more, but you zoomed for more throw and a diffuser like that would decrease throw.
I'll mention again that these look a lot like some I picked up on Aliexpress that overcharge the battery if using the built-in USB charging circuit, so I'd recommend charging in a separate charger until you can determine whether the specimen you have does that.
