I am flummoxed as to why these things are so expensive. It’s molded foam in between layers of molded plastic with a little bit of wiring, a cooling system, and a couple of lightbulbs and other plastic doodads. I suppose shipping them from China costs a few dollars. … When I was a kid, the ice pterodactyl would deliver a chunk of coolant from the local glacier once a week and that was good enough for us.
