This looks like the SATA m.2 connection with the two notches? But the label clearly says NVMe?!?

Are the two m.2 port connections interchangeable for NVMe? The above link implies that they aren't but it isn't a source that I trust yet so I am unsure.

It seems that a small number of NVMe SSDs have the two notches when looking through
Newegg.
I don't understand the design choice to pick one over the other.
