I'm not sure how I feel about entrusting my water main to an IOT device. Nice idea but I'd be a little cautious given the frequency that IOT devices are hacked or otherwise compromised.

Yeah, and as someone who came home from vacation to a flooded house I can tell you having your water shut off could be a very nice thing.
I think this is a brilliant idea and product. I work for a large insurance company, I think this product would be quite useful for people with northern climate vacation homes. “Frozen Pipes”
Problem is you need to have the space to use it. On hold homes some have the turn dial shut off and not a ball valve. In my place, not enough space in the wall to put this...

Yeah, and as someone who came home from vacation to a flooded house I can tell you having your water shut off could be a very nice thing.
Why on earth wouldn't they have just spilled some water there?
