Bought one. Quality control date stamp: 08/15/2014. Old warehouse stock they couldn't sell in more than 3.5 years? No wonder hefty price cut.

Mine arrived today. Sticker on the box said they replaced the outdated battery with one from 2018. I looked at the battery itself and it seems to be a Hitachi they just slapped an APC sticker on. But I can't see a date anywhere. I guess time will tell. But $20 isn't a really big gamble either way.
