I loved the original movie. This TV series is very confusing at times....just keep watching. Definitely worth seeing and the picture quality is really noticeable.

Totally confusing, but it definitely comes together if you stick with it! Reading or at least knowing the basic plot/characters of the graphic novel beforehand is also helpful :)

I found this a lot less confusing and certainly a lot more valuable than that stupid Witcher thing that got so much attention. It wasn't until the second to the last episode of Witcher that I realized the timeline is not linear. Watchmen is so much deeper and touches on so many aspects. Definitely worth watching until the end.

But for a more realistic and much more current look at the life of black Americans, at least in the inner cities, everyone should definitely watch The Wire.

yeah...just to be clear, The Wire does not represent the life for the majority of ******* Americans. It certainly may be representative of some but don't assume it's a documentary.

njfan9: your comment sounds like a bot and you have no cred.

The Wire is the only TV show that I have ever seen that felt that I was watching a documentary.
1) The Wire
2) Breaking Bad
3) The Sopranos
4) Star Trek: The Next Generation

That wasn't shmeagle's comment. S/he labeled The Wire as a reflection of black life which is either ignorant or insensitive. As I said in my previous comment, the show is documentary-like however to apply it with a broad brush to an entire race of people is offensive. If s/he didn't mean that, their wording wasn't clear.

And I don't care if I don't have Ben creds. I feel confident in saying I don't need them in order to share an opinion.

Agreed, confusing at first but great show through to the end. Hopefully another season is coming.

I appreciate your comment and I was not being insensitive nor ignorant. I said it reflects the life of black Americans in the inner cities and I can back it up with 40 years of living in Detroit and Chicago. Beyond the drug dealings, it delves into the lives of what the society used to call middle class comprised of teachers, policeman, longshoreman, social workers, and those in the court systems as well as newspapermen. So, no, I stand by my statement.
