Prefer a Claw Nail Puller and a good hammer. Yes, more expensive and you have two tools, but better at the job.

If you ever get deep into a demo job anything like this is priceless. I had to rewall my shed and the last owner had used old spiral nails, one about every three inches. I'd still be working on it if I didn't stop and go get a good demo tool. It was that are I was going to cover it in lighter fluid and throw a match on it.
