specs are not bad, i like the fact that you can search in one screen for multiples apps. is android based and has google play store. is on the top price but is faster than firetv stick. for the same prices is not bad. i just ordered one.
I am so sick of Firestick/TV that keep hanging up in the middle of most 4K movies. first insists the problem is your router/internet too slow (it isn't) and second tell you to reset the device which forces you into downloading all your apps and logging into them one by one and then only lasts 6 months before you get the hang up
I don't know if the newer devices still have the same problems, but I've go two going back 2 and 4 years that both do.
I’m so done with TiVo and their exorbitant subscription fees and the restrictions on recorded stuff. Their service no longer has any value, I cut the cable a few years back, threw away my TiVo, and now for less than I was paying for cableTV with YouTubeTV I get cable channels, DVR and streaming. TiVo is an overpriced dinosaur.

The reason I own Tivos is because I cut the cord a couple of years ago. I use a Tivo Bolt attached to an antenna with 3 Tivo Minis. This works awesome for DVR'ing my TV shows. I only pay for the guide service once a year.
My question about this device is does it work with my Tivo Bolt?
I don't think this takes the place of TiVo Mini. That is, you can't stream from a TiVo DVR to this device, at least from what I've read. If you can do it, they did a really good job of hiding that spec.
I'm considering sending this device back. There is no way to watch live TV on this. It doesn't work with any Tivo DVR. You cant load Spectrum/Charter TV app through the google play store BUT there is a prominent TIVO logo'ed button for live TV. This button directs you to the Tivo+ guide that is their version of Pluto TV. The absolute worst feature of this device is one of the features that is the most advertised. That is the combined search which is supposed to direct you to the service that you have for the show you want to watch. In many cases it directs you to a PAID VERSION of the show instead of the free one that you already get. For instance I searched for NCIS. It sent me to Prime to watch it for $3.99 per episode. It should have directed me to CBS All Access to watch it for FREE.
Let me answer my own question. No it does not work with my Tivo Bolt or any other Tivo DVR. It is a glorified Fire 4k stick. The search function on the Tivo stick sometimes directs you to paid viewing choices vs ones that you have already paid for. (NCIS New Orleans search sent me to to pay to view per episode vs sending me to CBS All Access where I was already signed in and already had a membership. It seems to work. It has both a mini USB and a USB C port which I have never seen before on a streaming device. It's fairly quick. It streams 4k fine but it's not revolutionary and the live TV function is terrible. It directs you to a modified version of Pluto TV. There is no way to watch real live TV without hacking it. You can't just go to the Google store and download Charter or Spectrum TV's app. They are locked out of the abbreviated download area.
I have dozens of Roku and fire sticks across rentals. Definitely like fire sticks more. Plus recast for free dvr make it a no brainer. Loved my TiVo in 2004.
I hadn't realized they recycled the name "TiVo Stream" for a completely different product. The initial TiVo Stream allowed you to stream and extract content from your TiVo Premiere to your LAN (with lots of irritating restrictions).
This is just yet another media streamer. Yawn. No thanks.
