@mircea-petrina, not sure how old you are but Circut City and the Good Guys had at best 1999 TV standards in the early-mid '90's and well, they were $15-40k. It seems to me $6k ain't much.
Buuuut.... This TV is made only to make greedy money by tricking unwitting consumers. There is indeed barely any meaningful 4k content let alone 8k. This is a bad deal for all involved. Not a bargain, rather its an insult.
Once you sit in front of one of these sets in a proper setup and watch it upscale a bluray to 8K, I guarantee you'll see the value in it. It's phenomenal, but not for screens smaller than 80 inches unless you sit only a few feet from your TV.
And as far as the OLED comparison, the benefit here is brightness. OLED still beats it with true black, but FALD LCD sets crush OLED for brightness. There's value in each, just a shame that right now we can't have both. MicroLED maybe?
