I just tried and it does ask me to set up an account so that I can start a 14 day trial. Is that considered 'no subscription'? I don't want to find out I'll be getting and automatic payment in 15 days.
It only allows you to see "SOME" things and not all of the series, especially WestWorld. And it's only on demand, i.e. streaming so you cannot record and watch later.
Kind of lame if you ask me.
Some of the other pay to views are doing the same thing with the "LIMITED" access. So it's not really HBO, it's HBO super light!
I hope people read my comment and pay attention. Many, if not all, cable companies have recently placed a limit on streaming at 1TB. Anything over and you pay additional charges. Just found this out when I renewed my 2 year Comcast deal. No idea why the Feds have allowed this, but there it is unless YOU complain. Now you might think...no big deal, right? Well, it is very much a big deal. First......Comcast, and other providers, have been charging more for less content to make up for the loss of paid cable subscribers, a decrease which is mostly due to the increase of streaming. Now Comcast and the rest are placing a limit on Internet use. And if you think 1TB is a lot....well, it is. For someone like me who has regular cable, Premium cable like HBO and Showtime, along with streaming services like Netflix and Prime. So we watch about as much regular cable as we do streaming. And we do 0 online gaming. But for a household who plays online gaming and streams most of their TV content.....you can eat up 1TB fairly quickly. Lastly.....I read an article awhile back about how Comcast has been experimenting with full streaming in some areas. No more cable lines. So how will that affect Cable/Internet consumers? For me, at 65, I really don't care all that much. I have been paying for cable since the early to mid 70's.......not one month without a cable bill for damn near 50 years. I can dump it all and find a new hobby. And I can learn to live just using my phone for limited Internet. But for you young folks out there.......I suggest you get real vocal real quick. Because I foresee whatever you subscribe to currently costing you double or more in the next 10 years or less. The USA already has some of the highest Internet costs in the world, and these companies are increasing consumer costs with little or no Govt. oversight.
