    2 cents

Had a good look at the D7500 at my local Costco a while back and I just checked - for $1000 bucks, you get:

A brand new D7500 with 2 Year Extended Warranty on Camera Body Only
    AF-P 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens
    AF-P 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G VR Lens
32GB SD Card, Camera Bag & Extra Battery
    Nikon Educational Online Class

So for $400 bucks more Costco appears a good option if you're looking for a decent warranty and a NEW camera. Might be more warranty by using the Costco Visa credit card.

Beyond all that, I'm a Pentax (and a Samsung, yup NX) camera person. Yes I know, I know. Poor me in catch up world (and nowhere to go on NX). But I love the handling of the Pentax DSLRs and the photos I've taken. On features, the D7500 has far better autofocus, a much more capable sensor (low light, higher ISO) and has 4k c/w my rather elderly K7 camera, fundamentally before you get to all those features, it just didn't feel so good to hold or as rugged and the viewfinder was for me nowhere near as good. Am an outdoor, former mountaineering photo guy and now an out of shape parent photographer so a rugged camera is a valuable feature to me. Doesn't mean all those new features aren't really important to me. Just means that I want the latter to be features of my next camera as well.

So buying a DSLR is one area where I strongly suggest that you run, don't walk to your local camera store. Try out the different models and come in with the online price to give them a chance to match before you buy something off the internet.
    Ebay
is full of nearly new gear from people who bought something based on features and a great price but never used it. By getting some hands on, you actually get to find out what's important to YOU. Online reviews are great but not everything can be done on the internet - and to be frank, if you can't be arsed to get off your derriere to check out a DSLR in person, I would suggest that you probably won't be using it much anyway.

    Ooops I've gone too far,
