Not sure if they really need the wing light to be a separate piece, but it does look pretty handy for working under the hood, if you can adjust it so that you aren't working in a shadow. Might be best for just general lighting, then a pocket light with a magnetic base and swivel head can be aimed at the exact spot you want, closer than on the hood.
