4 mil is waaaay too thin for most serious automotive work. I have much better success with the 9 mil thick nitrile gloves. They cost a lot more, but I hate constantly ripping gloves and getting my hands dirty.
Agree that these are too thin for any "rough" work, but these are the kind that work great for stuff like spreading caulk or grease where you are throwing them away immediately because they get gunked up at first use. Of course reasonable thickness used to be the price... thanks Rona!
