Just to let you know that no mask protects you from the virus but helps if you sick from infecting others. in this case...this mask sucks.
Like I said...I rather be in a room without a mask but everyone that is sick is wearing a N95 mask versus I am wearing a N95 mask and everyone in the room is not and is sick.
It is a shame that seemingly all the new mask suppliers chose to use cheap/nearly worthless material. This is despite research that showed tighter material like usable interfacing and HEPA filters stand a good chance of actually working.
no matter what anyone says....WEARING A MASK IS BETTER THEN NOTHING AT ALL - PERIOD....doesn't take a genius.
It's not. Imagine trying to catch minnows in a net where the holes are too big, they all go through. If anything it allows people to be more confident and exposes them to more risks than if they didn't have a mask.
The virus spreads through three modes: (1) Large droplet. (2) Small droplet. (3) Contact.
Washing hands and not touching face gets contact. Mask makes it hard to touch your mouth or nose.
Mask gets large droplets.
Little helps with small droplets.
But yes, any mask will help. It's not that you have 120 nanometer viruses floating around everywhere. That's one mode of many. And if you do have a solitary virus floating in, your body can probably handle one virus.
A mask protects both you from others and others from you. It does a lot more for the latter than the former but it helps with both.
It's not like catching minnows with a giant net. It's like catching a Noah's ark of animals. Some will get through, but fewer. That's a big help.
I don't sweat it if it's not N95. The biggest problem is from CONTACT. Any mask helps emensily because it's a behavirus modifier. It keeps you from touching your mouth and nose which is the main vectors of transmission. That with distancing really makes a difference in arresting the spread to each other. I want to get back to normal as soon as possible, but the numbers are still going up and I nor my family and coworkers can aford 2 weeks in ICU ON A VENT FIGHTING FOR OUR LIVES, just because they have the last word, no one is going to tell them what to do. Be safe.
